Steps for a teacher application letter with no experience

To still get hired in that school, even without experience, follow my steps below.

You can copy the samples ‘word-for-word‘ too (like others) but I’d advise you use the steps to write yours and stand out.

  3. RECEIVER’S ADDRESS
  4. SALUTATION
  5. TITLE OR HEADING

  8. CONCLUSION
  9. CLOSING REMARK
  10. SIGNATURE
  11. WRITER’S NAME

1. Writer’s Address

This is your house address, written first and at the top right corner of your page.

10, Harmony Avenue,
Gwagwalada,
Abuja.

2. Date

Write that day’s date under your address, still at the top right corner.

21st August, 2026.

3. Receiver’s address

Write this under the date but at the left corner of your page.

The Proprietress,
XYZ Private School,
Abuja.

4. Salutation

Write this under the receiver’s address, and according to the gender of the receiver.

Use ‘Sir‘ (for a man), ‘Madam‘ (for a woman) and ‘Sir/Madam‘ (when the gender is unknown).

   Dear Madam,

5. Title or heading

Write this in CAPITAL LETTERS, under the salutation. It says the exact position you are applying for.

APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER

6. Introduction

Write this under the title, stating (in full sentence) what you are applying for and how you currently have no experience.

I am writing to apply for the position of Primary School Teacher in your school. I recently completed my Bachelor's degree in Education and I am eager to begin my teaching career in a reputable private institution.

7. Body paragraphs

  • Use this 1st paragraph to state that though you lack experience, you have adequate training.
Although, I do not yet have formal teaching experience, I have received professional training in lesson planning, classroom management and child-centred teaching methods during my teaching practice. I am confident in my ability to apply this skills effectively in a real classroom setting.
  • Use 2nd paragraph to express your willingness to learn on-the-job.
I am enthusiastic, patient and willing to learn. I am open to guidance and professional development, and commited to giving my best to support pupils' academic and personal growth.
  • Use 3rd paragraph to emphasize your passion and competence, even with no experience yet.
I believe that my strong educational background, positive attitude and passion for teaching will help me contribute meaningfully to your school. I would be grateful for the opportunity to prove my abilities.

Mention any attachment, appreciate their time and expect feedback.
