‘To summarize’ means to shorten or make brief without changing the overall meaning or main points of the original content.

Quick tips for summary writing

Be brief and straight to the point.

Avoid irrelevant details.

Change words but do not change the point.

Maintain the original arrangement of points.

Avoid quoting word-for-word (verbatim).

Write complete sentences.

Pay attention to your grammar, punctuation and spellings.

Stick to the word or sentence limit.
