Consonant sound /w/ is pronounced almost like VOWEL /ʊə/ or that first sound in “WORD”.
It is voiced because there is a vibration in your throat when you pronounce it, similar to CONSONANT SOUND /j/.

🔕 Silent consonant /w/ occurs when it comes before ‘r’ or ‘h’ at the beginning of words.
- wrap
- whose
- wright
It is also silent in words like “answer, sword, who, two, etc…“
