VOICELESS consonant sound /tʃ/

Consonant /tʃ/ sound is pronounced like that FIRST sound you hear when you say the word: “China“.

It is popular in words with –ch-.

Similar to shhh sound /ʃ/, this consonant sound /tʃ/ is also “voiceless”. So there is NO vibration in your throat when pronounced.

Notice that there is an initial obstruction of air before the sudden release to produce the /tʃ/ sound, unlike the CONSONANT SOUND /ʃ/ which has a free flow of air throughout its pronunciation.
