Consonant sound /f/ is pronounced like a short ‘fu’ or that first sound in “fan”.
It is voiceless because there is no vibration in your throat when you pronounce it, unlike CONSONANT SOUND /v/.

📒 Though the (–ff) in “off” has the /f/ sound, the (–f) in “of” is pronounced as /v/.
