Vowel sound /ʌ/ is pronounced like ‘UH’ or that middle sound in the word “cup”.

It has a short but strong pronunciation, unlike the weak version — VOWEL /ə/ SOUND.

Some examples of words with vowel /ʌ/ sound

📒 Letters (-u-, -o-) in most words often give this vowel /ʌ/ sound which can be stressed — unlike the “Schwa sound”.
