How to write Date in WAEC and NECO Letter (7 Steps)

The date in WAEC and NECO letter is written at the right-hand side of your page, under THE WRITER’S ADDRESS.

Format of date of a letter in WAEC NECO GCE

1 Figure(s)

Start with that DAY’S NUMBER in figures.

  • 7

2. Position

Write the figure in a position format.

  • 7th

2. Month

Capitalize the first letter.

  • 7th October

4. Comma

Insert a comma after the month.

  • 7th October,

5. Year

Write the year in figures.

  • 7th October, 2024

6. Full-stop

Put a full-stop at the end.

  • 7th October, 2024.

Extra tip on the date in WAEC letter writing

Remember to write this date immediately under the writer’s address.

While the address ends with a full stop, the date ends with its own separate full stop too.
