Welcome to the simplest lesson on voiced consonant sound /n/ with its pronunciation, word examples and questions for you to practice.

Voiced consonant /n/

Voiced consonant sound /n/

Consonant sound /n/ is pronounced like that FIRST sound when you say “noo”.

Its pronunciation is similar with CONSONANT SOUND /l/ — the tongue touching the roof of the mouth but further back from the front teeth with the lips flat and almost closed.

Consonant /n/ sound is VOICED, so there is a vibration in your throat when pronounced.

TAKE NOTE: /n/ is mostly SILENT when it comes after ‘m’ at the end of words.
